2004Les Ateliers Louis Moinet

Founding of Les Ateliers Louis Moinet, an independent watch company.

It soon settles into its historical premises in Saint-Blaise, near Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

2012Compteur de Tierces

On May 14th 2012, at Christie’s Geneva, Jean-Marie Schaller wins the bidding for the “Compteur de Tierces” by Louis Moinet, for the sum of CHF 50,000.

This creation by Louis Moinet had been entirely forgotten over time.

2013Inventor of the chronograph

On March 21st 2013, a press conference is held at Neuchâtel Observatory.

The announcement is made that Louis Moinet is officially recognised as the inventor of the chronograph, thanks to his “Compteur de Tierces”

2014Merit Prize for the Development of the Watchmaking Arts and Technologies

Les Ateliers Louis Moinet are awarded the Merit Prize for the Development of the Watchmaking Arts and Technologies by the IIPP, at the headquarters of UNESCO, in Paris
